Having lived in Ohio, Florida and New York, one of the main influences in Jamichael’s artistic work in music and photography are the stories found in suburban and urban communities. With background in classical piano and flute as well as photography; he is currently the recipient of the North American tour scholarship studying Jazz at Berklee College of music.
At Berklee, Jamichael is studying Electronic Production Design, but isn’t focused on a single-track career. While preforming is his escape and ultimate passion in life, he dreams of one day opening a studio to help share the knowledge of his passion with students who may not have the funds or equipment to do so. His life long partner, and support system, Theodore, a Flute and additionally Jamichael main musical instrument, is a vital part of everything he is doing at Berklee. From Writing songs, to finding his passion, Frazier and Theodore are a dynamic duo.
Some of Jamichael’s influences for is songwriting ranges from J-Dilla, Lianne La Haves, and Jordan Rakei to Adele and John legend.

About the Artist
Born in Dayton Ohio, JaMichael moved to Rochester New York at the age of 12 where he began playing the flute, piano and creating music
Previously classically trained at the Eastman school of music pre-college division, JaMichael took a different route to broaden his horizons and took on studying Jazz, Hip-hop and Neo-soul music at Berklee College of music. Some main influences in JaMichael’s artistic work with music and dancing are the stories found in suburban and urban communities and the humanization of nature. Having opportunities to performed in place like the Montruex Jazz festival in Switzerland to the Rochester International jazz fest, JaMichael have been able to work with artist like grammy award winning songwriter Desmond Child, Samora Pinderhughes, DOMi and many others
His newfound love of songwriting allows him to incorporate his technical classical composition skills, harmonic jazz knowledge, plus the use lyrics to discuss topics like the parallel of humans with nature and taking others stories and translating it to music. One of JaMichael’s main musical interest is using instruments that are unorthodox to the genres RnB, Jazz, and Soul; like the flute, viola, and clarinet.
As a flautist and a composer, some of JaMichael influences are artist like Robert Glasper, Jordan Rakei, Louis cole, and Kamsi Washington. JaMichael is currently studying for his Masters at NYU while working on developing his artistry and to open a school to teach dance and music to inner city kids.
